THE QUESTION WHAT IS A TRAIL DIE? FINALLY GOT ME TO POST THIS. I'VE FOUND A FEW OF THESE IN A BU ROLL I CHECKED A COUPLE WEEKS AGO. NOT SURE IF IT IS ONE. POSSIBLE TRAIL LINES COMING OFF THE "T" OF CENT.
George
SORRY FOR FORGETING TO POST PICTURES.

Those are some mighty good pictures.
It is possible the lines from the T in CENT could be trails or maybe file/die marks. BJ or Bob will likely check in on this real soon to let you know.

Hi George - I would be definitely interested in seeing these coins if you have found a couple in a BU roll. While I cannot say for sure that they are trail dies, they seem to have the characteristics of that die anomaly.
Thanks George.

UNFORTUNATELY THIS DID NOT TURN OUT TO BE TRAIL DIE LINES; JUST POLISHING MARKS. MANY THANKS TO BJ NEFF FOR HIS TIME AND EXPERTISE.

This was a very interesting die. It did have some of the attributes of being a trail die, but it also had some dis-qualifiers for being a trail die as well. Some time next week, I will be putting this die on the traildies.com site as an interesting non-trail die.
Thanks George for sending these coins down to me.

Thanks BJ. We need these examples to learn from. And thanks to George for posting it.
