I see what is a separation on the vertical leg of the 5 as it meets the belly. Is this a DD? I can't find any attribution. Thanks, George

It's hard to tell with these pictures.

To quote from Charles Daughtrey's book Looking Through LINCOLN CENTS page 221 under a photo of the 5, "This 1965 cent shows a notch in the ceter left part of the digit that is common to all cents of this year".
Hope this helps.

As Steve mentions, Chuck Daughtrey makes specific mention of this anomaly in his book "Looking Through Lincoln Cents'. This is common for all the coins minted this year where it appears that a notch shows in that area. It is a new style of the number, and is not a doubled die.

Rats. Back to the drawing board. Thanks for the education.
