1986d Doubling in the date. Any thoughts?

    Year: 1986
    Mint: Denver
    Found in Circulation

Never heard of an 86d ddo before. This looks intresting. No other visible doubling in the lettering.

Edit: Typo, Also is there a good post/site that explains the different classes of doubling? I hear about them all the time, but have no idea what it means.

The doubling appears to be from Die Deterioration Doubling (DDD); the off-set incuse type prevalent during the late eighties and early nineties. Pretty common but cool looking as it is often naked eye obvious.

I have a thread here on DDD: http://www.lincolncentresource.net/f...ead.php?t=6169

And my site here has Other Forms of Doubling including DDD and MD: www.lincoln-cents.cuvelier.org/OFD

Don't look now but here's a DDD example on eBay listed as a "Double Die Strike Error," the seller has a little bit of everything in the title but what it really is: DDD.

Ah well thanks for your opinions back to the grind I guess. Origionally I thought it was some sort of MD, but when I looked at it again the doubling on the 9,8, and 6 seemed to be completely seperate images. Eh still a neat example.

Sad thing is Aisha is that they probably already are members and use the info to mislead others.

or if they become members, they would think we are all stupid and go against us anyway. I email them about their coin on ebay all the time and they get angry and say that everyone is just harassing them..lolol

I would say aleast 98% of the people selling bs on ebay KNOW they are selling bs on ebay and not some rare find.
