I don't see anything, may be the lighting and movement of the camera. If you are talking about something that is internal to the mintmark,"inside the "S" and it does not show serifs, then I would say no unless there is great evedence of a nice set of curves for instance.

No I dont see split serifs, just internal material. Is there any links for jefferson rpms that you can recommend?

Pretty common for the MM punches to start to deteriorate and break in the middle portions; that is what I suspect has happened here. Try posting the pics on CONECA's board or PM James Wiles for his comments...
