Novice here. I think this is doubling, but I have no idea.

here's an example of what a normal coin would look like under my device:

The rest of the coin looks normal, it's just the date that has a rut down the middle of the numbers. I've looked online and haven't been able to find anything else like this. In fact the only thing I've found in this date is a RPM. Like I said before, I'm very new at this and am still pretty DD illiterate. I'd love some advice.

    Thanks in advance

What you see I believe is caused by die wear/deterioration and not hub doubling. Note how the devices are the same size in your "normal" example as they are in the first set of pictures. If you took away that portion which you call doubling in the first set you would wind up with 1/2 of the normal design. In hub doubling you would wind up with a normal design having removed the doubling.

Thanks for the response. my follow up question would be, is this worth anything or should I roll it up with the other ones?

Also a bit off topic, would a slight machine doubling and a slightly off center coin be worth anything worth the trouble of selling? I've found a few, just speaking generally cross dates and Mint Marks.

Welcome to the Forum! As always pictures and a new thread would help you get responses to that last question. If identified correctly for what it is, anything can potentially be sold, but in the case of "slight" not carry a premium or be worth the effort for off center and not at all for md.
