I've said it a million times so I'm make it a million and one.....do NOT buy key date and expensive raw coins from ebay. You are just begging to get burned. There's like two honest sellers I know of for high price Lincolns on ebay.....yes....TWO. Also, a coin like this is too important to buy sight unseen IMO. The only way I pay that kind of money for a coin is when I can hold it and see it with my own eyes....slabbed or not......just my preference. I'm a patient buyer, eventually what I seek will cross my path.

Based on the bad photo's and all the splotching with less than desirable eye appeal I would stay below $300 and feel more comfortable in the $200+ range. Based on his list price it looks to be high.

      Best of luck Jim

Thad you can buy from me and maybe have lol. I have 100% positive feedback and only sell top notch stuff. I have sold near 1,000 coins on Ebay and other auction services with the majority mint errors and die varieties both slabbed and raw. I do appreciate your comments however on holding it in your hand.

This is closing at 10PM eastern time tonight: http://www.teletrade.com/coins/lot.a...9&imagetype=j2
Teletrade is a high end retail arena, so I wouldn't go beyond what they average there.
IF the coin doesn't have major issues, I don't think it'd grade as good as the MS63 RB in the link above.

Jim I know what you mean. I sell on ebay and have 100% feedback and I am also a top rated seller. There is some good sellers on ebay but you got to know what your looking at first. I gave a offer of 150 which I thought was fair for that coin because of the damage, but was shut down fast. He does want to much for the coin.

I want to thank everybody for there input. Everybody was very helpful. Everybody got a THANKS.

I doubt I've bought from you on ebay because I have bought very few coins online. Based on what you say and the fact you're a member here....I can probably say I know 3 good ebay Lincoln sellers now.

I see the one in the link above did not sell. Someone must have put a buy back on it.

You are welcome Frank. it is worth more than $150. Most members here do not Know I am an appraiser. I have been appraising for 22 years. I have sold 50+/- 72 die 1's alone over the past 10 years. I used to hoard them lol. Even with the poor finish it appears to be low choice to upper Au. So if you really want it don't be afraid to go a bit higher. The only issue is are there things you don't see and that is where Ebay can be tricky. I do not know this seller. If I had a die 1 right now I would cut you a good deal. If i pick one up I will let you know.

                    Best of luck! Jim
