I was just wondering if any of you knew about this double die reverse?. I was reading my numismatic news and i seen in the ads that a person has one for sale for a $1,000.00 or best offer. it is graded by PCGS and for some reason i MISSED this error by a long shot, he said it is as dramatic as the 1983 double die reverse. Please let me know if anyone but me never knew about it.

Never heard about a 1995 DDR that was as dramatic as the 1983. In order to be so, it would have to have been hubbed a minimum of 2 times, with significant rotation. Not something you would suspect happened in the single squeeze error, but very possible.
Now I have seen many 1995 reverses that had significant mechanical doubling, but I am sure if this thing is supposedly PCGS certified, they would catch that.
To me, something like this would be a very significant find, and worth considerable publicity....not just an ad in NN.Bob Piazza

I agree and I think that it does have MDD on the reverse but PCGS slabbed it as a regular 1995 coin and the person who has the coin saw the MDD on the reverse and advertised it as a DDR thinking PCGS missed the DDR. I don't think PCGS annotates MDD unless you pay the Variety fee.Comment

The closest doubled die that looks like the 1983 DDR would have to be the 2004 DDO Peace nickel as far as a single squeeze hubbing went, and even then, I am not to confident that the DDO Peace nickel was a product of the single squeeze. That die may have been rehubbed. But that is just my opinion.
