I've always been a little different...

So, while trying not to take the thread too much off track, I'll name some of the more fun coins that Charity and I have gotten to buy and sell this past year:

1917 DDO, just slabbed with PCGS as AU55

We got lucky enough to handle two MS Red examples of 1936 DDO #3. One graded MS64 RD at PCGS while the other got MS66 RD.

We die get lucky enough to cherrypick a '34 DDO FS-101 in XF

Just slabbed an MS64 Red '44-D/S #1 with PCGS

Cherrypicked an XF/AU '46-S/D cent and sold another example in MS Red

For the first time ever, we cherried (5) 1960-D Sm/Lg Dates, FS-101 all BU Red Graded MS64 & 65 at PCGS

PCGS gifted us 8 1963-D cents in MS66 Red, $550 each by PCGS price guide

Cherried 8 examples of 1964 DDR FS-802 out of a group of BU rolls Coins graded MS64 & 65 RD at PCGS

    1966 DDR in choice AU/low MS (bought/sold)

Got an MS67 Red on a 1967 cent from PCGS, coin sold for $2,695, coin pulled from BU Roll (cherrypicked)

This year I fell in love with my most favoritest variety ever... Handled an example of 1970-S DDO #1 in AU55 and just
purchased a second example last week in PCGS MS63 RB, all known examples are EDS coins, just mind-blowing.

Purchased the sole example of 1973-D RPM #3 dramatic to the South

1983-P CLO-001 FS-401 in MS RB, a SUPER Rare Coin!! (purchased and sold, not cherried)

For the first time ever, I pulled multiple examples of a WAM! We don't get many Philly coins out here and got lucky with a hot BU roll. The coins slabbed MS65 and MS66 Red.

Here's to hoping that everyone reading this has a prosperous, but more importantly, fun new year!

Started this hobby in Feb, having searched about four bank bricks for the year and then only the zincs… so about 7K-8K coins total searched. (I hoarded all coppers and all 1982s).

I did not find anything major but overall enjoyed my first year.

That's pretty incredible with only searching $70 worth.

I'll second that. Two 1997 doubled ears? I've never found even one. That magician's coin must've given you some good luck!

George- some of the best stuff I found this year came from 2 bags you sent me- 2011 DDO #4, WAM, 2004 DDO/DDR- each of those was a real thrill, and the first I'd ever cherried of each variety. I'm pretty sure you've found some amazing stuff... including ROLLS of the 2011 ddo, no?

The 2011s I found in 2011 Chris. I did find a few unusual items and will post once I have a mental list.

I rarely search rolls anymore. But I did find a 1998 S Close AM that is in a PCGS PR69DCAM holder!

I like errors as much as I like DDs so I'll start with them:

1X- partially clipped planchet one cent.
2X- Split die strikes both listed on BJ's new site "Cuds-on-Coins". SD-1c-1998-01 and SD-1c-2001-001R.
1X- Rotated cap strike doubled obv., 1995.
1X- Major obv. cud, listed but don't remember the attribution.

                      One cent doubled dies:

                      7X-1972P-1DO-007
                      4X-1972P-1DO-003
                      1X-1972P-1DO-002
                      1X-1980P-1DO-001
                      Several 1999P DDRs
                      Several 2004-1DO/1DR-001

                      Good number of RPMs

A highlight was the discovery piece 5c wavy steps and trails combination listed on the trails site and pictured below. Its the first coin I've had slabbed (with BJ's help, thanks).
Of course there were a number of other DDOs and DDRs but these are the ones I readily remember.
