Coppercoins 1943S-1DR-001 will cross with Variety Vista 1943S-DDR-002. The 5 small die gouges above the left wheat stem are a match. Keep in mind VV has 2 obverse dies associated the the DDR. I have a stage B (DMR-016) that I had in an “unlisted” group and was finally able to match it up.

I just ran with it so I could find the correct cross reference. I received a coin from Chugly in a 2x2 labeled "1960D-RPM-061 NOT coppercoins 061." I checked it out & sure enough, it didn't match coppercoins 061. Coppercoins has 061 cross referenced as RPM-061 and WRPM-049. I'm not sure about Wexler's as I don't have images, but 1MM-061 doesn't match RPM-061. 1MM-061 is a good bit closer to the tail of the 9 than RPM-061. After an hour or two of research and overlays I have concluded:

    CONECA - 1960D-RPM-061 & RPM-038 are duplicate listings.
    Coppercoins - 1960D-1MM-038 matches both (CON) RPM-038 & 061
Coppercoins - 1960D-1MM-061 doesn't cross reference with any listed by CONECA

When you have a few free minutes, I'd love opinions.

I will make sure to check these out when I work my way up to the 1960 rpms. I haven't started on the memorial RPMs yet.

CC 061 appears to be slightly farther north and rotated slightly CW compared to Variety Vistas 061... Also the split of the upper serif on CC appears slightly farther up the serif and VVs appears more centrally located... Not sure on the rest of the matches... To me CC 038 does not match either VV 038 or 061 and VV 038 is really close to 061???

I love the idea of a master list once this project is "complete". I have 2 lists that could be used as a starting point. They list out every variety from 1909-date listed by either CONECA, Wexler, or Coppercoins. It is also up to date with all publicly listed cross-references. Keep in mind the total is 8000+ listings and 160 pages long at 9 point font. This would not be a short project.

When the work is "complete," we will definitely either do a sticky thread, or better yet, I am thinking a master list with its own page on the website here would be in order.

You are correct that there are more additions and corrections coming. I have a list of 70 with Bob right now, as well as a list of 160 with John Wexler right now pending. I also have a second list of 40 for Wexler once he gets through the current list. I am also still checking many years.

The idea of a sticky is interesting to me. I don't think these lists should be combined but instead, if a sticky is desired, that a new list should be created once the majority of listing updates are completed. For this I would combine the various updates in chronological order so it is easier to read.

The purpose of this list to me is to provide people the ability to use Coppercoins or Wexler and not have to worry about checking the other sites to look for cross-references. If you exclusively looked at Coppercoins for listings the past 10 years because they were the only site out there, then the coppercoins updates will be helpful. If you sent all your coins to John Wexler, the Wexler updates will be helpful. Unfortunately, CONECA doesn't list cross-references so if you exclusively use their website and CDs cross-references will be hard to come by.

Hopefully the updates allow people to attribute their coin in as many systems as possible. If you have coin A being 1DO-004 and don't see a listing on coppercoins for a Wexler or CONECA cross-reference you may assume there are none. Wexler may have listed that 1DO-004 is also WDDO-007 and DDO-002 though. I provide that cross-reference update on here once I get the listing officially added to the respective websites.

This list also provides new cross-references discovered by myself and other individuals. These are obviously more work but are probably more helpful as well. The majority of these listings are new and are simply me comparing between the 3 systems. It is not particularly hard but just takes time.

There is also one incorrect change on this list. 1937D-1DO-004 might or might not be DDO-002. This is being further looked at by Bob and is not ruled in or ruled out right now.

How about combining this thread with the "Wexler Updates" thread into a single "Xref Update" thread and give it a sticky - just a suggestion - I am sure there are more updates to come in the future.

This list finishes up the coppercoins wheat cent listings. Make sure to update your master lists as needed. Coppercoins listings remaining to be checked include - 1959-1989 RPMs, 1960-1964-D doubled dies, 1999-2006 doubled dies, 2009 doubled dies.

Wexler listings are also being checked and I will update with those in the near future.

The correct Wexler cross reference is 1946S-WRPM-074. I hope I helped a tad anyway.
I have made this correction. Thank you very much for your input. I have started updating the last group of cross references I received from Dan. I should be finished with them within a few days.

Thank you for the cross-reference. It is included among my next email for Bob. It may be awhile before this email goes out as Bob is currently checking a large list of cross-references though.

I would like to add one to this list, if I can. I recently picked up an example of 1946S-1MM-020 (RPM-020). It is incorrectly crossed as WRPM-038. Wexler 038 is a sans serif RPM. The correct Wexler cross reference is 1946S-WRPM-074. I hope I helped a tad anyway.

This is indeed quite an undertaking. Once again, I need to thank Dan for his hard work. I will continue updating coppercoins with the info he supplies as quickly as I can, but he does deserve to take some time off.
