1945-D DDO? Crazy eyes for sure!

Not to sure what's going on with this one. Definitely interesting at the least, but sure hoping these are multiple hubbings. Profile doubling I belive is somewhat common, but the forehead seems a bit extreme. There is something inside the uper left of the Y may or may not be related. It's in a NGC hoder and was battling me to get clear shot. Hope you can see it clear enough!

Pics look good, Mike. Is this a new one? Very cool!
What about the ear and bowtie? Is there doubling on them, too?

I am leaning toward a reengraved die due to the forehead... Not sure tho... The 1st pic the eye area appears to be some abrasions... The 3rd pic appears to have one extra hubbing... Maybe one to send in???

Hopefully a new one! I was hoping to catch something else that would relate to the eye. Maybe a little on the bow tie and vest related to the forehead. Not sure if it's legit though.

It has me leaning back and forth. Hope I don't fall over!! Maybe too much going on for all of it to be die doubling. I am finally going to send a few to Wiles, so we will see!

It's certainly a very deceptive one, but it appears to be a die gouge. The anomaly in question does not conform to the shape of the eye/eyelid.

I thought I had replied in this thread, but I guess I got distracted when I read it. I am in complete agreement with Jody. Looks like die damage since it does not seem to match the design of the eye.

I am also leaning toward this being some type of die damage. It is just too 'busy' to be a classic Class 4 DDO. Can't say I have ever seen anything like that before.

I have to agree that the anomalies near the eye in question seem more like some type of gouging.

Thanks for commenting everyone. I'm sure it's a case of "too good to be true". If it were on a 58-D I wouldn't have been so supprised!!
