    World coins question

I have been cleaning up my office and realized I have a couple of jars of world coins and most are silver color. Does any body know where on the internet I could go to find out if these coins contain silver or not? I want to start getting them out of here and the best way is get all the silver ones / or part silver ones together and sell as a package.
    Thanks for any help.

This is a decent site for identifying them, but you might have to do further research to determine composition.

I just use the Krause guide, with over 1000 pages it covers all world coins since 1901. You can pick up used editions for $20 or less, new they're close to $100.

Yes- they tell you composition of every coin and when it changed from silver to CN.

A good magnet will help also. Save a lot of time looking coins up if all you want is to know if they are not silver. Works on the canadian coins that they changed mid year.

I broke down and bought a 2012 new cd for 1901 to 2000 and it paid off. 7 coins were silver and got a au-ms 1958G 1 mark (Deutschland) coin that could be worth up to $1,100. I am just going by the World Coins CD by Krause Publications. I'm thinking around $500. I was going to sell my pile of coins for $20. I'm glad I didn't.
