2015 P Kisatchie ATB Quarter- Obverse Die Clashes

I picked up $150.00 of quarters today (BWR'S) and 9 of the rolls ended up being the 2015 P ATB Kisatchie rolls.

I found these die clashes on the Obverse on approx. 35 of the coins.

Looks like feather lines from the reverse?

      Thanks!

      None that I can find.

coop gave me an overlay and now I'm not sure if the 2 big horizontal lines to the right of the earlobe are die clashes or die gouges?

The one's under the earlobe appear to be die clashes.

The area behind the ear that may be gouges could explain why there is no clash on the rev!!!

I would definitely like to see one of the die clashes. Please PM me if you are willing to send one down to me.

After about five to six hours of working with overlays to see if a fit was possible, I came to the conclusion that this is not a die clash. The two strong diagonal lines in Washington's hair are not typical lines that you would see from a clashed die. They are almost parallel to each other and and none of the turkey's wing show such lines. The three small blobs under Washington's ear are spaced to close together to be anything on the wing. Another determining factor is that there were no obverse clash marks on the reverse die.

My conclusion is that this is some sort of die damage from an unknown source.

Thanks for all the help BJ!

No die clashes but real nice die gouges.

Since I now have over 4 full rolls of these exact coins, I'll hold on to a few and cash the rest in.

                Chuck.
