Being in Florida I've given it some consideration and think one of the best things is a five gallon bucket with the airtight lid. (There is a little rubber gasket around the inside of the lid) Maybe even a small packet of moisture remover. If you do it while the coins have been in the AC (to remove the humidity), the coins inside will stay dry even if submerged. It may not be practical for all collections/collectors but it will help in the case of extended power outages where humidity levels can really climb. White drywall buckets work well and you might even get them for free if you ask around.

Yes, or maybe ever those military ammo cans. They are also air/water tight as well. They have rubber gaskets also.

Hope now that Harvey is about gone, things will get back to normal soon. We've just had some heavy rain and tornado watches but nothing bad. Got a call from Nashville, they are having some flash flooding. Thoughts go out to the people in Texas and other areas that were hard hit by this terrible storm.

My son corrected me one time when I told him there was a cold front on the way. He said "they should be called less warm fronts in Florida"!

LOL Cliff, your son is right, that's cute! Although I have been to Florida when you had to wear a jacket so I guess it depends on how far south you are

Maybe we will have a "real" winter here this year. Last year it was a hot day on Christmas! Ready for football, hot chocolate and hopefully a pretty snow this year!

So a funny thing just happened. My son and I were running errands and took Rose, his Chow Chow. We went through the drive through to get some barbeque and the girl was going on and on about how beautiful Rose is (perfect chic magnet)... then we were sitting at a stop light and this very attractive older lady driving a nice sports car with the top down pulled up next to us and she was making faces at Rose and Rose was whining so I rolled down the window and said hello and she said... what a beautiful dog... and I said, thank you, it's my son's... we got gas and headed home and my son said... mom... that lady is behind us. I think she is following us... LOL... ended up she lives in our neighborhood! So I take it... chic magnets do work!

Funny thing is... my son tells me... mom don't be hugging me and stuff when we go out in public because I may have my eye on a pretty girl and I don't want her to think we are a couple LOL... Well I took that as a huge compliment at my age LOL... so yesterday when he thought this pretty lady was following him home, I could tell he was all nervous thinking she was really following us home! We pulled in our driveway, she kept going and we just waived
