Coinstar - No More Gift Cards?

I am sure I am not the only one using Coinstar as a dropoff site for unwanted coins after collection inspection. I cash these coins in for restaurant gift cards thus avoiding the service fee. The Coinstar machines in my area have recently discontinued this practice of offering gift cards with the exception of Amazon gift cards. Is this the case in other areas of the country?

Use this link and enter your zip, click egift cards and it shows what is available for you.

In my area, it's only amazon, maybe some areas have other stuff.

Interesting, did not know this but, I don't use the Coinstar machines.

Happened by one in the store the other day and was looking for a way to possibly reverse the Coinstar process: To put in dollars and receive coins back. Did not see a way to facilitate the reversal.

These cards were available at my locations as well up to a month or so ago. I will probably bring my proceeds along with me the next time I visit my family. They have access to a fee free machine at their local credit union.

Cash at a rediculous fee or a Weis voucher at 5.9% fee.

Actually not too bad a fee considering my bank charges a 5% fee.
