Is this 1939 a valuable coin? I seen one a friend had that was close in years and was graded at over $700. Not sure why it was valuable but Im sure I can't get that lucky... Also aquired a buffalo nickel but the year is worn off. From what I searched it really has no value, correct?

The only 39P or any 39 Jefferson nickel I see worth those bucks is a DDR in MS grade. See if you can get some closeups of the area shown in the link. Also see if you can get a closeup of "IN GOD" on the obverse. Link (https://www.usacoinbook.com/coins/98...le-monticello/)
Here are a couple other links to check out if you see any doubling.

My guess is someone thought it is the 1939 DDR. The price listed in the Cherry Pickers Guide was $700 but that's for a high grade example.
You need a close up of FIVE CENTS and Monticello. I can't see it in your photos.
If it was that variety then it has some value but much less than $700, it would be something above $25 (rough guess) in that condition.Comment

The 40% wartime nickels started midyear 1942 and went to 1945. You can tell them because they have the mintmarks over the dome and even the P has a big P over the dome. So there is no silver in any 1939Comment
