I would say it is possible due to the vertical mark not conforming to the flow of the metal in the area of the MM.
If It Is, it's a in-verted listing... Would be a great discovery... Gonna haft to have the die variety experts look at it and pay the $3 or $4 depending on your choice of expert.... Good Luck!!
Personally.. It's very light and no remnants of the upper or lower serifs in the field, could be early die state and they,"Serifs" have not shown or will not show up. It's a guess, but I would probably send it in and take the $$$$ hit, it would be worth it if it is, and what's $3 or $4 plus postage????? Remember it's your call...
Could be a VLDS D/D East and what we are seeing is the verticle along with the flow lines...
Worth a shot to send it in though. If you do... follow up and let us know. Of course if it were to be an inverted. We will all know soon enough..
