While the pulling of the last 8 is reminiscent of Class VI doubling, there is not any distortion on the rest of the date; I have not seen an example of Class VI that only, or prominently showed just on the last digit. I would think it is all related to a hit, but it is curious and I wouldn't toss it.

I have great difficulty with that sort of error. Usually I toss the coin because I cannot convince myself it is worth storing, but I could be very wrong in that decision.

Looks like a hit.And again,could be legit.I would hold onto it,and wait for other coins to appear with similar marks......Ken.
Unfortunately, all that we are seeing on that digit is a result of a hit. I personally don't see any other distortion that would lead me to believe it is a class VI DD.
