1956 proof, or ms, from mint set?

I posted this the other day. 1 answer: " runaway business strike" they guessed.

After a couple if days I'm leaning towards a Proof let loose.
Hope I'm right. What grade do you all think. Get Graded? I'm thunking yes. If its a proof
Nice coin. I think. Goad detail. And natural tone.

Ps I'm loading up to 9 pics that are allowed in thread. But only one us uploaded. Tried a few times same result. Any suggestions? Have different pics to show. But one pic at a time per post would take long.

By what I see of the rims it looks like a business strike,better pics might help. But I think slabbing would be a waste of money even if it were a proof.

Thnx tabug business doesn't seem logical to slab. But, doesn't the proof realize a good price ? In the grade? Seems to be a mid ms grade. Maybe - 55

The cost of a good slab like PCGS will be more than the value of this coin. I picked up my 1956 proof for $3 two years ago...a good buy, but I'm still not gonna slab it.

I need to ask the same question Will just did. What makes you believe this is a Proof let loose? I see nothing from the photo that makes me think this is a proof coin.

Trick question or not? Well tha why I asked for advise. I still haven't memorized the different die changes according to years. Learning what to look for to see difference in ms and proof patterns for certain years. I just know I've found loose proof wheaties and etc.. Sometimes don't notice til someone showed me. Then I picked up on that and found a few I hadn't noticed. The hard one to learn are the yrs with ms strikes and proofs at same same mint. Like before '68 philly's and S'S cause the PL early strikes for circulation can be very clean abd strong. And u don't know where it came from or know what to look fir in difference in MS or Proof thus led me to lean towards proof.

So reason why is, the detail and type of luster. And bolder lettering. Plus... In checking Coppercoins 1956's , the proof images resembled my dbling on the '56 I have posted. If not a proofs. Then asking is it maybe different/new variety the ms '56 varieties. Cause the coin seems to have stronger charactistics then others. But dis seem to closely resemble the proof '56. And I'm having trouble post quality pics at the moment. So I now you're not seeing te details I am. My iPhone should work better but seems to be having an issue right now and is why I haven't continued posting the coins I needed to tonight for advise for submissions on Saturday. And my Sony is down. I've asked for suggestions on apps to make better. Or info on how to get better pics. I change lights and angles but its hut and at moment with the phone camera. That's why I'm trying to settle home remod recover from this past year with some good choices in submissions. Anyway without knowing in detail of what ti look for between ms and proof forthis year. I'm not sure. So that's why I ask if maybe a special '56 or a Mach dbling.

I agree with the others, this one appears to be a business strike. Remember, proofs have deep mirror like backgrounds.

First off, I have no 1956 proofs listed on coppercoins. Kind of hard to compare your coin with something I don't have.

Coins having a strong characteristic do not mean they are proofs at all. Nice early strikes , even on business strikes can be incredibly nice looking and have proof like qualities. They are all made from the same master, so the details should be on all coins, not just proofs.

As far as you picture taking skills, it does take a bit to master Jon. We do have plenty of info on LCR about taking pics. However, we can not address all issues between a particular phone, camera, lighting, stability etc. We have to generalize that info and the rest is up to you to practice and fine tune,

ermm..there "should be" 1956 proofs listed on coppercoins. I can think of two rather major ones right off.

Anyhow, the coin posted here is business strike, possibly cleaned, definitely not attractively toned, and is worth about 50 cents at best.

I stand corrected. My apologies. We do have a proof coin listed, and it is 1956P-1DR-004P. If you have a look at those photos, you can see the difference between the proof and your coin including the squared off rims.

That's a business strike. Maybe buy a cheap 1959 proof from eBay if there are no cheap 1956 proofs up and then in person make a side to side comparison.
