Roll of 55 wheat pennies

I got a roll of mint uncirculated wheat pennies.
They have been stored in a plastic tube since the early 70's at least maybe longer.
A coin dealer told me that quite a few have die wear on the year marks.
To me to S stamp looks a little funky.
Here are a few, I just started sorting them into plastic baggies and photographing them.
What do you guys think?

Looks rather normal. There may be some light die chipping on the S mintmark. Common for the era.

Like me, it's hard to tell when Chris is joking sometimes. You guys do realize that "55" was referring to the date of the wheat roll, not the number of specimens in it, right? I thought the exact same thing, though, when I first read it.
As for the coin itself, it looks perfectly normal to me from that photo. A close-up shot of the mint mark would be needed to see anything else.

Are you going to check them for RPMs?

If you look you might find something.

Enter the year, pick the S mint and pick mintmark variety.

Then see if any of your coins match the 12 different RPMs listed.

I would also note that if you have a roll of unc. cents, be careful how you handle them. There are still high-dollar grades coming out of rolls that have been stored for years. Don't handle these with your bare hands.

They have only been out of the roll at the coin dealers - on a cloth and he handled them with cotton gloves.
The only other time has been at my home yesterday.
While sorting them I am also wearing cotton gloves on a cloth covered surface.
Ziploc baggies don't have anything in them that can corrode copper do they?
What would something like this be worth?
Are they worth sending them off to the pcgs to be graded?

I wouldn't send them to PCGS. Most, if any, are probably not worth it. Put them in safe storage until you've extensively studied grading the higher MS grades, and then you can get an idea of what coins might have a shot.

Just put them back in the tube. Study. Buy some more and have fun.

I agree about not sending them in. The example you show might recoup grading fees if you are lucky. Get them out of the bag so further marks don't occur--tube or flips and hold onto them.

Within your roll there are probably coins from several or many different dies. You should check each coin against the ones at the link if you want to see if anything in the roll is a variety of value.

It's probably not worth grading any of them. Most coins from a roll won't grade high enough even though they look nice.
If you get good at grading and pick the best coins then they might be worth grading but you must be able to grade well.
It costs more for grading than the coins sell for unless they grade about 65RD or higher. If you invest in grading a few lower grade ones along with each higher grade coin then the cost of grading the lower grade ones cancels out whatever you could have made on the high grade ones.
