Error Other | 1961 D RPM, also maybe shadow of a second D?

Does anyone else see the, what seems to be a shadow of something behind, to the west of the D? Or am I just looking too hard trying to see something that is not really there? opinions please. Also, appears to have some MD on the front and back of his jacket as well as on the bottom of his chin onto his neck. 3ADD5E9E-AF0D-4336-9EA5-7B3FE262CB1E.jpg 0475D292-94CD-4B6A-989D-02BA60EA86E6.jpg B0A4A266-D319-4874-9E20-9B8A2130677E.jpg 578672AE-4E3D-40EC-B58A-E898C8579497.jpg DFC4179B-7B34-4FCB-82F1-BA3EC625FEF1.jpg 7E95514B-D196-4454-8EED-A68DB4194D77.jpg 9E2C1495-9913-4741-AC0C-41626E74387A.jpg 9A4E0481-528B-4573-9DC0-4F20C093C387.jpg AF22A697-55B3-46B1-9492-A30A0729DE0E.jpg DADE5178-3901-467D-A061-93D694C4E06B.jpg

I'm not sure about the shadow but there is a nice split in the bottom serif. Have you looked through the lengthy list yet?

Yes I have. I’m not seeing an exact match that I can tell. Maybe I am missing something, but I can’t be sure.

I'm with Jon... not seeing the shadow, but do see the bottom split. The top of the MM looks like it took a hit so that might make finding a match difficult. Where is it that you see the shadow?

I think that it is just my lighting. As it is dark now, it does not show up on the coin now.

To me it looks like a crack from the 9s tail that goes S - ESE - SE to the lower serif a forerunner of a Flying D??? Not 100% sure tho due to the abrasions there??? Nice split on the lower serif and like Vivien pointed out a damaged upper... I can look at this a little later!!!

I do Believe the upper part of the D is damage. The Serif is in the lower bottom Of the D.

Are the close up pics at an angle??? The only one that looks close to straight on is the last pic of the date/MM... It could be I need to hold my tongue in a different position tho

Lol!! The up close of the date is taken through a microscope and I do have to hold my phone at a small angle. The mint mark is a bit crooked though. The full shot of the whole coin is not at an angle though. It is taken from a camera directly above on a regular camera for coins.

Ok... So I was holding my tongue correctly Since the Date/MM close ups are tilted slightly it makes attribution a little more difficult however did you look at CCs 085 http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/d...&die_state=lds It is LDS and I do not see the crack on the shoulder of yours or the chip on the 1st 1 of date... If you are able to match it up what I thought was a lite crack, from the 9s tail to the MMs lower serif, may just be from abrasions???
