    Can I use the "T" word? '71-S

Is there anything to the horns on this one? (NW corners). I know the planchet has striations on it too but....

If they are not the "T" word the corners of United are sure missing their chance. That is nice!

I have to agree with George. You can see the abrasions between the letters and the lines on the bottom of the E are going in a different diirection. The abrasions are also going the same direction as the suspected T word. It's a tough call. One of the pros may need to see it in hand. Great eyes!

I ain't sure on this one. It might be, might not be....
The abrasion you do see seems to be going in a slightly different direction than the lines coming off the last three to four letters of UNITED.
            I just can't be sure.
I tend to look for more evidence of trails than this, but then it's an 1971-S, outside of the normal range for trails.
            I just don't know.
            Just my thoughts.

I think that it maybe part of the abrasions seen. The lines are not exactly parallel to each other. But then again it is hard to tell from this picture. If you would like, send it on down and I'll take a look at it.

Exactly how I feel, BJ! It might be abrasion, or it might be....
