    1955-P Date Anomaly..?

    Hello All.

Not sure what I have here, so I thought I'd post to see what you think.

S/E of the trailing 5 (connected to it, really) is a shape matching that of the swoop (if you will).

Under the roof (again, if you will) of the leading 5, there is another piece of something that is more than likely the result of a hit.

    Happy Tuesday.

The last 5 of the date is die deterioration. On this date, it was referred to as the 'Poor Man's Doubled Die', but it's not a Doubled die at all. As far as the first 5, it appears to have take a hit at some time.

      Thanks Bob.

I'd heard about the "poor man's DD", but wasn't sure what it all meant. (Bet I could get $100 for it on eBay. LOL)

I know I couldn't, but if I sold these for $100 each I could, George.
