1954-D No rim error??

Greetings,
I found this 1954-D cent and was wondering if this is a common error or something unique? The coin appears to be a light strike as it has no rim and is wide around the edge. I compared it to a regular 1954-D in the photos. Any opinions on this coin would be appreciated.

Looks like your coin came out if it's aluminum casing, from a "lucky penny" type keychain. When the coin is pressed into the aluminum encasement, the rims the softer copper penny get smashed down.

I agree, looks encased at one point in time. Must not of been that lucky!!..lolol

An ex-encased cent from a bezel - I would keep it for reference as you'll see them on eBay erroneously listed as an assortment of errors. Nothing beats an example on hand.
