Looks like a double column and what appears to be an extra foot, knee and part of a leg!!!

Nice! I dont know how you guys spot most of these kind of things. I probably miss them all the time.

Do you see it with the naked eye then go in for a closer look? Or do you just check that area on a regular basis with magnification?

I checked Copper Coins and there are 3 DDO's listed, but no DDR's. Class 1 and 2. But that's not saying that your coin may not need a closer look. In this hobby it seems like anything may be possible. Tom

To answer your question ,I look at all my coins with a 30x and if I think I need to get closer I go in with the 60x and rarely the 100x.I like to check the whole coin, in this hobby one ever knows where an error lays!!!

Definitely true... I know i've probably sent a lot back to the bank just because I had bad lighting, or insufficient equipment and not enough knowledge about pennies from the beginning. I hope it's a DDR too, it definitely gives you a boost to keep going through mountains of pennies when you find something.

Probably die chipping. This type of doubling really isn't common to this era - of course that does not mean a weird class VIII did not occur at some point. For me, I would want to see some other evidence to substantiate it; maybe doubling in another area that could not be written off as chipping... Maybe Bob or Billy would look at it.

I have seen this many times on 1970 and 1971 cents. The most likely cause is die deterioration.

I see what looks to be a heavily casted leg after a terrible fall from the big seat.
