    This looks like it could be a collar break.

        I might be wrong, but that's my opinion. I'm not very familiar with collar breaks. You should check with someone like Mike Diamond.

          A collar break looks different; more like a irregular blob that goes oddly past the confines of the radius of a normal coin. The metal would flow into the broken section like a CUD. With this example I would be inclined to suggest the coin was pressed and damaged post mint as opposed to a Mint error that I am unaware of. Of course Mike may have something else to say...
