    93' Struck On A Dime?

I wanted to get some feedback on this one I found. The feel and the size are completely off. It has that feeling off only a dime can have and also the predominantly orange, with shades of red and olive-green are present. Any thoughts?

Since there is a weight difference between the dime planchet (2.27 grams) and the cent planchet (2.5 grams), a quick trip to the scales will tell the story. I have a 1973 Lincoln cent struck on a dime planchet and it looks nothing like your picture.

I'd say your taking it to far with the struck on a dime planchet.First time Im noticing is that it looks like this coin been in the elements.Second would be did you weight it, and third is it the same size as a dime?

Weight would be the best way to tell... From what I see it appears the plating has come off possibly due to corrosion!!!

Absolutely, I agree. Dimes just aren't that color. No, it couldn't have been a dime planchet that got plated with copper. Dimes don't turn that color. There are many, many other reasons, but in simplest terms, if it were a dime planchet, it'd be a dime colored planchet.

It does look like your cent sat on a very hot surface for a little bit. This can liquefy the zinc inside, or can completely burn the copper off before the zinc has a chance to heat up and melt, depending on the intensity of heat source.

I am afraid one way or another that poor Lincoln cent was abused and converted into this mystery cent - there is just nothing to indicate otherwise. Sorry. Nice pics BTW.

I thank you for your comments but I don't think you really understood the tittle. 93' struck on a dime? I was not say it is 100% struck on a dime I was asking for advice. It feels a bit and is smaller in size then usual, that is all I said. I will have to way it to be for certain.
