    Gold Colour Pennies -Toned or plated?

    Hello , I have 5 of these "gold plated" Pennies & was wondering if this is a commen colour tone or if these are most likely plated . Thank you

    I see a red ,red brown and average worn coins so I'm a little confuzzled. If you take them one at a time you will get better opinions or answers. Thanks for sharing.

    PS Sometimes the coins are coated with a gold plating by individuals trying to make them more attractive. Hope this helps.

      Thank you - I am assuming they were plated by somebody but some I am not sure of . To rephrase the question , Is gold a colour that pennies often tone into? Let me add that I dont know much about coin collecting

        Also the 1993 on the bottom is just for an example of a reg colour

              They could have just been exposed to something chemical and heat during circulation. Plated coins usually are a bit slicker. You could check the weight, but then if they are plated, they really don't have any extra value...

                  I'm not sure any of us can say based on pictures. The brass plated planchets on Potter's site are real enough errors and I honestly don't think they would be all that rare. It's just a matter of an ever so slightly off mixture during the normal plating process.I have about a dozen of these myself.
