Does anyone know where there is pictures of DDO-001 or DDO-002 that is listed on CONECA?. I think I might of cherrypicked DDO-002 but theres no pictures anywhere...I cant really get a good pic because its slabbed but it has all the qualities of the description on CONECA.
Hopefully I don't get sued for this. :p This is from Wexler's Authoritative Reference. It's WDDO-001. Unfortunately he does not list 002. Hope it helps.
Nice pics..What I need is 002. I have the thickness on the motto and the date looks doubled with a spread on the tail of the 9. It also looks like a minor RPM

Can you post pics? We should at least be able to determine if it is a class VI or not...a number may have to wait...
Jason:
Send me your email and I will send you a photo of the date and mintmark. DDO-002 was a very early new listing and I need to take up-to-date digital photos. I hope yours is a match.
Thanks,
James Wiles
Well theres some good news and bad news..From Dr. James Wiles:
1930-S NGC. 325851-028. Not a DDO. After careful study of several mint state coins from all three mints I have concluded that the doubling on the 9 is from engraving. The mint modified the obverse design in 1930 including the 19 of the date, leaving some doubling on the 9. I have removed the DDO-002 listing from the CONECA files. Unfortunately it is a little bit too late for entry into the new E-Book on wheat cent doubled dies, which is already at the publishers. But I will make notice of it on varietyvista.
That was the bad news. But I concider it good news too because my coin helped in the conclusion of delisted DDO-002. So its like a new reverse listing..lolol
Heres a photo of what it looks like. Not the greatest but it was a match to the DDO-002 but is now NOT a DDO at all. Still some helpful news I think..
