1983 Silver toned...PMD??

    1983 Silver toned...PMD??

    Hi folks,

    Found this awhile ago and was inclined to believe it may be PMD due to the chalky appearance and air bubbles. Just want to be certain.

    Appears the copper plating has been removed.

      Got alot of those. In the beginning thought they were unplated planchets. Most turned out to be pmd caused by acid etc.

        Reminds me of when I was young and decided to deplate an entire zinc penny. Don't ask me why I decided to do such a silly thing. I'm still amazed at how easily the plating came off. I eventually returned it to circulation. You never know, it might end up on eBay some day!

            But his description of an example is true - now multiply that by alot
            Of other young collectors and you got a lot of coins out there!
