This one is confusing me... looking at the 9 the inner part is not blunt it's rounded and the 7 is much higher than other 1970's I have looked at. And a possible RPM?
Here are some pictures. I will keep my fingers crossed that I got this one right!
Hi Karah, ummmm, it looks like a large date. If you turn the date upside down and look at the top of the 7 and compair it to the others, its easier to tell.Darn! Tom
1970-S small date is extremely extremely hard to find in circulation. There are members here who have been actively searching rolls and collecting for decades without ever finding one. I think one of the members found one last year and we all did a happy dance. Good luck with your hunts. I look forward to doing a happy dance jig with you.

My LCR Photo Albumof Graded Lincoln Cent Cherry Picker Varieties
Hi.
Just thought I would send you a couple pics of mine. I bought an OBW roll recently, and found all the coins to be beautiful, with ONE small date! (Notice my avatar, I've been searching too!)
Notice how weak the 'LIBERTY' gets toward the 'Y', and the inner tail on the '9' should point more toward the '7' and not towrd the MM. Tom was right about the '7'. It should be as high as the '9' and '0' at the top also. Check out this website for a very thorough explanation. (Even though I have heard of different varieties, I guess it is not a true 70 S Smally unless it has ALL of those charateristics.)
