I see what appears to be lathe lines in all the bays... This is on several of the 61Ds' I am looking thru for Frank... These are also RPM but I have not gotten pics of the RPMs yet... My photography skills are not the best and the LLs' are lite so I pointed to the ones I could see in the pic... Easier for me to see than you because I know where they are at... I hope the lines show up enough for you to see... Thanks!!!

I cannot conclusively determine what they are. Could be circular die scratches or some planchet anomaly. I could look at it for you (and Frank) and see if the lines are perfectly centered and circular...

I have seen concentric lathe lines on both the large date 1960-P and the 1961 Lincoln cents. I do see the lines that you have pointed out and I believe that you have the one of those mentioned.

I'm not sure what these are. They seemed to be spaced further apart than lathe lines, but I see these all the time on Cents from the early '60s.“What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.”Comment

Have any other examples BJ? I have not seen anything pre-'88 that was definitive but would like to...

Lathe marks are circular. Not straight like the OP coin. Looks more like polishing fading scratches:

Sometimes you can find coins that look like lathe lines that are actually die polishing lines. The way to tell them apart is to see if they are circular from the center of the coin. If not they are not lathe lines.Richard S. Cooper Some have asked about my images I use, and I'm glad to say I've completed a DVD of these. Ask if you are interested. Newer members like these.Comment
