This looks more like a 1958D RPM but the RPMs for this date have some that are very close . As I am not an RPM Pro I will need some help on this coin. This is from Chris's OBW Rolls.
Lucien, can't be sure, but I looked on CC and found a couple close ones. (especially looking at the position of the MM, and also the shape of the MM). You will have to check out the site to look at markers and such, to make a match. To me it was very close to 1MM-028, or 1MM-031.
(Tough year for RPM's. There are a ton of 'em!) I have an OBW roll of 58d's to look through coming up, and now I'm not looking forward to it so much! LOL
(Hey, lemme know what else you find, and I'll compare my roll.) Thanks.
Nice coin! Good luck!
Good luck Lucien, I have 11 RPM's from the same source...3 different dies..but I haven't got the patience to attribute them. Might just have another contest

Thats, a good idea.
As for the 1958-D i can't actually tell if there is a split on the lower serif of the D. Can you see.

Reason: wow sometimes. i amaze myself.
I can't quite see splits on Lucien's coin either, just taking his word, plus the fact that my RPM's are pretty difficult to see without just the right angle and light.

My mistake i though if he was asking if it was actually a RPM or some PMD.
the best way to narrow it down is look at the MM position and compare it with the coins on CC. Who knows you might find an exact match.
I know coop always does overlays but then you have to make sure the images are the same size which can be tricky.
edit-
I think it looks like PMD from the pictures though. i had to say it sorry.
I hope its a RPM
I can't see for sure what is going on with the bottom serif? When I need the lower seric to show, I use an external extra light. Sometimes sunlight or a well placed low level light. It helps to enhance the lower serif so you can see the split. Normally I only use one light source at 12:00. But on the split lower serifs I may use a second light source.
Richard S. Cooper Some have asked about my images I use, and I'm glad to say I've completed a DVD of these. Ask if you are interested. Newer members like these.
There is actually a split on the lower serif but the it is hard to get it clearly on the pics. thanks for the help. this date is tough. I'll try low level light for the lower serif.

Sorry, the image is too large and blurry. Try reducing the size. When I open it I can make out the mint mark, but that is about all. The thumbnail is clearer than the large image. But I think your getting closer to solving the problem.

It's that darn Ring Light I got. I had to tone it down a lot but the image may be too large resulting in a blurred image. I'll try to reduce the size and see how it turns out. These 58D are a headache to get the splits. Thanks Coop for helping here.
