    Is you or is you aint a thick date? 1969S

    Here are two pictures of two different 1969S cents... one of them looks a little thick, especially the 1 and the first 9 and 6.
    Not sure if the thick date make this a double die or is this normal for some dates... maybe with later or earlier die states?
    I can use help from the pros on understanding the different sizes... thanks a bunch!

    (also the thick date cent has a cute little rpm)

    The letters/numbers will get a bit thicker with continued striking as the devices begin to wear. The class 6 (extra thickness) normally includes distention/distortion.

      I agree die wear, the thickening is not in the right parts of the date...in your case it is all over. A big area to concentrate on is the tail of the first 9 in the date.
