    1972 D RPM - new?

    hello
I am going through a obw roll of 72D and found this rpm. I am not sure which one it is, there are some listed without pictures and not really sure how to describe this one to match it, beside seeing a lower split serif and a "separation line" on the north inner part of the mm...
Have you seen this one before?
    Thanks for your help

Looks like you might have a new RPM South Karah. Nice find The only thing that might call it into question is that I know there was a broken punch reported for 1972, but I'm not sure how it manifested. I know that for other years such as 1979-D, a broken punch caused the appearance of a split-serif RPM. Maybe someone has pictures of the broken punch that was used in 1972.

Maybe Bob will see if this is listable? It is a RPM. Let's see what he thinks?

        Thanks guys!
There were 18 rpm's in that roll... Plus one of the mm looks like what you are referring to Jody... it had a strange looking split, but much different than this one, I figured it was some kind of die damage or hit. I will see if I can find it again later tonight...

This one does not appear to be the damaged punch used in 1972. That punch had what appeared to be separation lines and maybe a split UPPER serif. This one looks like a good candidate to be a new RPM for the date, but as always, I would need to see it to verify it one way or another.

Wow - good eyes - 18 rpm's in one roll! Plus this one is the 19th! You don't get that lucky to many times. I think this weekend I'll go get a couple of rolls from my dealer. I have always been alittle lucky with them.
              Congrats

Nice work Karah! You are tearing up the finds lately! Any '72-D rpm is a good find, but finding an unlisted one is pretty unheard of. Very happy for you and don't stop now!
