    1970 S Anomalies

    Last one for the night

I have looked at many 1970S cents and this is the first I have seen like this... I have added some arrow to the areas of question...

the date has some lines similar to the 1970S-1DO-002P however has only 1 line not multiple in the 97&0
Liberty has some small lines coming out of the top of the L&I and has similar separation line to #12 on cc, however not as pronounced , but has a small separation line on the bottom horizontal part of the L as well...

I am not sure what to think about this one... what do you think it is? Thanks in advance for your help with this one.

It's a normal 1970S large date cent that's in pretty nice shape.

To be blunt - you're looking too hard to turn it into something it's not.

I have to remind myself over and over of this one thing Chuck!

A great deal always looks strange with lights and 200X. "Even me"

"We" newbies have go thru this sista. It's just a learning process.

It looks like it a slight rub on the tops of the date devices. There are some nice doubled dies for that year. Jason posted the nicest one on a proof cent. But something different is the DDO's for this year. Ckeck them out on coppercoins.

I too see a normal coin. I agree with Chuck, you're looking too hard. Give each coin about 5-10 seconds per side, move on, put questions to the side and come back to them a few weeks later.

Thanks Aisha and everyone else too.

This one still looks strange to me... I have searched through a lot of 1970S cents and out of all the normal ones this one does look different to me... just a different looking normal one I guess... lol

When I was searching though the rolls I noticed that all the #12 DDO's have the same looking date with the little "bump" mark on the outer right side of the 0 in the date ( I use that as "die marker" and found over 15 of them that way) , I always start by looking at the date in hopes of finding another small date... so when I saw this one, it had the bump in the 0 of date too... So at first I thought it was another #12. I look for little things like that when searching.

I agree with putting it down and coming back to it later... I have tossed a lot of coins back into the junk bowl to take back to the bank. But I had some questions about this one.

I still don't know what the little lines/spots are above the L&I though... does anyone know what those are?

@ Coop, Thanks, to an untrained eye, the "rub" you are refering to is a teaser, it makes it look like something it's not. I'm learning
