roll of 1970 S small date pennies.

hi guys. just wanted to show the penny lover community what i came across while selling my wifes late uncles collection for his wife. 1970 S small date with the light liberty stamp uncirculated roll. the far right roll is the 1970, the others are 1960 d small dates.

There could be some RPMs in the rolls? I love searching older rolls of even tubed coins. Possibly they are unsearched for varieties.
Richard S. Cooper Some have asked about my images I use, and I'm glad to say I've completed a DVD of these. Ask if you are interested. Newer members like these.

      Welcome to the forum!
Nice - I would take Coops advice and search 'em for varieties!

If this whole roll is 1970S small dates, then there is a gold mine here. Verify if they are indeed the small dates first. Don't simply go by the weakly struck LIBERTY. Post a close-up of the 70S small date, and see if we can help you verify if in fact that is what they all are. Mistakes have been made for decades with these.

The one in the photo appears to be a large date, as the seven appears fairly low.

Again, hard to say from such a small photo.

A lot of collectors get the small dates wrong. Use the 9 to determine, then follow with an examination of the levelness of the date and lastly the weakness in LIBERTY. A whole roll would be substantial.

done, done and done. they are legit. nine is correct, level is correct, and lastly the liberty stamp.

Ok, at 500% the one pictured looks like it is probably a SD.

the whole roll is the same. why are these such a valuable penny? did they only make a short run of them? im new to coins and any info will help. i plan on trading some of these for other coins of the same value to get my collection started off right.
