Photos are great but I have a small date "D"That I still go back and compare with the philly
Stated from LCR:The best way to see the difference is get one of each and compare for yourself. Only the 1960 small
date is considered rare. The 1960 D small date is a common Lincoln cent. http://www.lincolncentresource.com/s...smalldate.html
Hope this answered question.

I did that too at first then you realized how easy they are to spot after comparing for a while.Casey ParmanComment

1960 D/D Large over Small date?
Hi, I'm new here and I was hoping to get some information about a particular penny i found in some rolls today. At first it simply seemed as though it was a RPM but after getting it under a miscrope it appears as though its a small over large variety... although I thought it was a large over small but the resources i've been able to find say it cannot be a large over small from the Denver mint... Any help would be appreciated.
oh and i'm probably in the wrong forum, if you could point me in that directionComment

Small date only. Here is an image of the 1960D-1MM-100
Note the size of the 0 in the date.
Your coin is just a normal one. There appears to be some coin wrapper damage on the SE corner on your coin.Richard S. Cooper Some have asked about my images I use, and I'm glad to say I've completed a DVD of these. Ask if you are interested. Newer members like these.Comment

With my find of 1960 D being small, I knew it is not as special as the 1960 small, but for me it was like finding the holly grail in a sense that I am hopefully developing the eye, over time, to know what to look for when examining.
Just keep reading the threads and you will pick up a great deal here.Comment
