i bought a proof set i think i got the clear S. is this it? if it is does it mean my SBA $1 is a clear S also?

The type 2 "S" that only appeared that year in a few proof sets. It is really hard to identify. CONECA's picture in Varietyvista is very good. I cannot say for sure from your picture.

Hi:
The dollar type II's are much clearer than the cent type II - you picture looks as if it is a type II because of the slant of the s. look at it against a regular 1979 0r 1981-s and you will see diferrence. I will try to get some pic's for you. The cents really dont look as clear as the other demoninations - thats why it isn't listed in Red Book (I believe).

NOPE...This is Type 1 . If this was 79 then this would be Type 2. They cleared it up alot more on this year then on 79. In 81 they used the 79s Type 2 as their Type1..WAit.....ok..I had to read it again becuz i confuzed myself!!...lolol

The 81 Type 1 is the 79 Type 2. There is a better S on the 81 Type 2 then the 79 Type 2 becuz they use the 79 Type 2 die as the 81 Type 1...Well bottom line is thats type 1...lolol..sorryComment
