Hi Guys,
I don't think my brain has woken up yet this morning so I figured I would ask. I found a 1991 in a roll and the rims look like proof rims. Wide and flat. The coin looks thicker but weighs the same 2.5g. The field and rims meet at the sharp 90 degree like a proof. At the 9:00 position on the rim is the contact mark from the collar and also on the edge. There is also the small ridge along the inner portion of the rim on parts of the coin from die/planchet bounce. I guess what I'm really asking is, is there a difference in detail between the proof die and business strike die? Like the Wide AM... what should I look for?
Did I lose you? If I'm over thinking this, just tell me to have more coffee
.
Update: I just reread the mint error book and found out that rolled thick planchets often have the rim along the edge from the upsetting machine. Still not sure about the flat wide rims though.
Thanks guys,
Lestrrr
