Is this groundhog day? I thought this same coin was posted yesterday.

It was...maybe the answers were not what they were looking for? At any rate I don't think that a duplicate thread is necessary.

Well, this time he posted a pic of the obverse like asked. Still, it should have just been done on the other thread.

I'm with RLM on this one; I think it's some sort of glue. Dip it in acetone and see if it's still there.

Yes it was. I wish I had a memory as good as yours is. Would you believe I am still looking for an answer from the experts.

The thread is really not a duplicate. If you actually take notice, the pictures are different as wellas a obverse side pix as per request. Thanks anyway.

Dude, I think the issue is that you could have just added the new photos to the already existing thread. Secondly, the replies, except for mine, I can assure you, were given by folks that far exceed "expert" status.

Thanks for the obverse image. I'm not sure what we have here. It might be a coin that someone glued/soldered to hold the coin in place. It appears the area in question is above the field. A struck through would be incuse into the coin. This looks raised. Not sure.

I handled the matter as best as I saw fit. Don't need negative comments, that's not constructive Dude.

What??!! My first comment in this thread was a DEFENSE of your repost. I pointed out that you were posting new photos as was requested of you. Next I merely suggested this should have been done in the original post instead of a new one.

My 2nd post in this thread was a defense of those who spent their time and expertise for free to explain your coin, who you outright insulted by suggesting you were still waiting for "experts." And you think I am negative?

First of all, I see no negative comments here. It seems to me that he was trying to help you.

Secondly, who do you consider the experts here? Why are only their comments wanted and not others? I can assure you that there are very many people here who are capable of answering your post, and that is what we encourage our members to do.

Finally....I think that you probably need to view other posts and see what the proper posting techniques are. As far as I am concerned, this is a duplicate post. Many of the photos and questions were in the previous thread. You can edit any of your posts to include adding photos, adding text, and making corrections. In addition, you do not need to make consecutive posts (there are 4 in a row from you in this thread). If you are unsure of proper forum protocol, then you can do some research or just ask. The way you see fit, is not the correct way here. We certainly don't want to alienate anyone here, but it is a two way street.
