Is the coin upside down only when you flip it to the west or east?

It's best to put the coin in a flip and staple it in three places- take a picture of the obverse and reverse with the staples in the same place.

That can't be the only cent you have- get another one and you'll find it's the same.

The rotation is normal, it's called "coin rotation" as opposed to "token rotation", where the reverse is intentionally rotated 180 degrees.

If the mirror image of your cent showed an upright memorial reverse, or any other degree of rotation, then it'd be abnormal.

            Welcome to the forum!

Yep, that is a normal cent...no rotation.

Hi there! Welcome to LCR , and I totally understand where your concern is coming from, diferent countries have different obverse & reverse position, if you live in Canada, for example, their coins are minted so you can flip it to the left or right and the reverse image is in the same upright position as the obverse, but on the USA coins, most of them (I don't know about colonial coins) are designed in a way that if you flip it to either side, right or left, the rear image will be upside down, because US mint coins, are set to be filp it up or down, to see the reverse straight. I hope I didn't confused you more, the point is, your coin is pretty normal, thanks for asking and thans for sharing your concerns! (I learned that the hard way, I was confused in the begining too, because it does looks weird, once you compare a canada coin to us coin)
