    1953 Wheat Stalk Die Cracks?

Went to go pick up a few upgrades today. 1953 being one of them. I couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I took them both. When I got home and really looked at them under magnification, I noticed the wheat stalk on the left side--on both, looks odd. Are they die cracks? They actually both look identical to each other.

    Any ideas?

Those are die cracks with small die chips on them, and a common location on wheat cents. They look identical because they probably came from the same die.

The pics are a little blurry, so I'm not sure. They don't look like die cracks. It looks like PSD to me, but if the two coins were identical, that would rule out PSD. Perhaps it's some sort of die dent (damage to the die).

EDIT: Simon might be seeing it in a different way. Die chips would make the most sense if they are identical, but to me the area in question looks flat and low.

Man, it's times like these where I wish my computer was working so I could add arrows to the images. I see the die chip/crack on the third picture, around the middle of the image on the far left side.

I feel so silly asking this. What is the acronym PSD? I haven't heard this one used, and I am sure I know what it means, but can't figure out the acronym LOL

Funny, I see a die chip on the lower left of the wheat stalk in the third picture. However, the area above the chip looks different. I don't know what it is.

Post-strike damage. Also, PMD (post-mint damage) = PSD.
