Is this wheat penny an error, variety or something else completely? I have searched several different sites, even purchased tons of books in hopes of learning what category, if any, it would be in. Could someone, anyone, pease help me figure this one out?
Error? Variety? Something else?

Please tell us what you are seeing that is out of place, and we can go from there. I don't see anything on the photo you included except what appears to be a die chip above the bow tie (common for the date).Bob Piazza

i think maybe he sees that BERTY is smashed down, therefor looks like a different size and font than LI. at least thats all i could see that i would have thought was strange 6 months ago.Comment

Yes, part of LIBERTY looks to be smashed down, but this is entirely expected on a 56 year old coin. Circulation makes this looks smoother and wider than normal.-Sean

That what I call a bowtie die crack. I have no idea why, but this type of die crack seemed to be most common with the 1956 Cents from both mints.“What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.”Comment
