There is no wide AM variety for 2009, because the design was changed for a special commemorative reverse that year. The known dates for wide AM varieties so far are 1998-2000, with close AM varieties known on 1992P and 1992-D cents, as well as 1998-s and 1999-s proof close AM varieties.Comment

Wide AM reverse cents were made in 1998, 1999 & 2000 where the norm is the Close AM style. I believe that's what you're referring to.Chris & Charity Welch- LIVEANDIEVARIETIES

The whole notion of a wide AM and close AM is just a style change. When the coin's designed were done, for whatever reason, there was a subtle change made to the spacing and also the designer's initials. Those changes were between years and also between proof and business strike dies. We have more information here on such errors: http://error-ref.com/part-iii--die-i...on-errors.html
I'm not aware of any noticeable changes in 2009. I'll also note that sometimes striking anomalies or die wear can make the characteristics of the lettering appear to be different. To be able to determine such, one needs to study the design rather carefully.
