1970 S looks like 003. Or am I machined doubled out.

    1970 S looks like 003. Or am I machined doubled out.

    This 70s looks like 003 but there are several styles I see. The 0 shows the thorny looking spike from bottom right. Thanks for the input.

    Not machine doubling...the die did not press down mushing the original image...

      This could one of the lesser tilted and pivoted doubled dies only showing on the 0, or a die gouge. Did you check coppercoins.com for something with just something on the 0?

        This is definitely a doubled die. I can not identify which one it is based on these photos though.

          Yes it could be 1DO-007 or 1DO-008. They're similar and the mintmark location is similar so you'll need to find markers to ID it.

            Checked on CC!!

            Finally found what I've looked so hard for. A real DDO.
            I checked Cc. It matched the DDO -007
            The die scratch coming out from right upper t and at base of t in states. Second t. Die spot beside n on OBV and small group of gouges below left memorial by O.
            I post another pic. With this reply. Thanks to all for your patience with all my posts. I'm gonna get it. And do appreciate the encouraging words from all and am glad I didn't quit studying and looking.
