I was scanning in some duplicates last week when I discovered a 1920 double strike . It can be clearly seen in the date and also looks to have some on the reverse. I have been doing research on double strikes or double dies 1920 varieties and have come up empty. Does anyone have any information they can share on this verity and is it rare? Thanks Jerry
Welcome to the forum!
A doubled die and double struck coin are completely different. From your picture I am not sure as it is too small. It sounds like it could be what we call machine doubling or die deterioration doubling on the date. And there are no repunched dates after 1908 as the Mint stopped punching dies with the date.
Can you maybe elaborate on what you see or try and upload a much larger picture?
Welcome to the forums. Go check out the section Jason put together HERE. I hope the link works Everyone has some trouble with Machine doubling in the beginning but his section and all the sub-topics will help you learn how to determine waht you have until your eyes are just trained to see it.

With initials like "SDP" I was destined to end up collecting coins
