1999 penny that looks like a steel penny

I have this penny that looks like a steel penny. I can see copper on the top of IN GOD WE TRUST ... what does every think ... is this possible?

The colors of the photos make it too hard to determine if it is an "Unplated Lincoln", however with the pitting and roughness of the surface of the coin I would venture to say it is Post Mint Damage. Lets see what others have to say.

Folks it is EASY to deplate the copper off a Lincoln. I will not ever post it publicly, as too many of our cents are being Shipped to China already. If people knew this method, there would also be a rash of unplated cents like crazy. And, it is nearly undetectable. Beware unplated zinc authenticity.

You are right. Be very careful when purchasing an unplated coin, no matter what denomination.
