I have had this 1966 cent for sometime now and its has me seconding guessing myself, because in-hand the clash is nicely raised in several different locations and is attached to the bottom of Lincoln. Has anyone else come across this particular die, it is a 1966 Philly? Thanks and sorry for the horrible photos...

Can't quite make out what it is. Why do you think this is a clash? Does it match up to anything from the reverse? In that area, it should be parts of UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Could it be a gouge or dent?

The letters that would clash in that area would be the "OF" on the reverse... these letters do not touch the edge or rim....I think this is a die crack... when a die starts to break or "crack" a raised line is what results on the coin...

There is nothing on the reverse which surprised me too and I thought I was using the correct terminology not sure why I came to that assumption, sorry about that Bob. But to me and in-hand instead of my blurry photo and my lack of knowledge every answer you guys are stating is extremely plausible. The area in question as crazy as it sounds and not likely probably, really looks like doubling of the bottom of Lincolns jacket of some sort, to me. I just cannot get a real good close up and my camera skills stinks...
However, I have been a user of this site for many years now and have done allot of studying which is why I do not post much anymore, because of what the LRC and coopercoins has teach oneself. I wish I could get better photos and if anyone would like me to try, please let me no?
Thank you for everyone's feedback and I hope to learn what this may or may not be.

What was your user name before?
As for the coin it looks like a possible die crack but hard to tell. Or just wear
A clash would be when the obverse die hits the reverse die with no metal or coin blank(called Planchette) is between them. the image of the obverse transfers to the reverse and vice versa. so IF there is a clash... the image that you see will match up to the exact spot on the reverse. you may see the upside down "Y" in the memorial building on the viewers left side from liberty. or the columns making "prison bars" on the obverse. Now the reverse die may change yielding no image on the reverse and a clash with a image added to the obverse.

Why the name change? It says you were last on here a week ago. If you lost your password, someone Im sure can reset it for you
The weird thing is I have always known my password and one day switching antivirus programs (which always saved the password) I couldn't log back in... Now that is out of the way, thank you for the site http://error-ref.com/peripheral-die-damage.html I believe it's machine doubling as well. May be the pros might have another response.
