    1930 P Ex-encased coin?

I have good amount of coins I used to think were broadstikes, now I suspect are ex-encased coins. This one is the smallest, with overall shrunken size and details, which tells me it happened post strike. The surface is wavy and the rims are compressed as well. Was this the result of it being encased?

Looks like an ex-encased cent to me. Probably altered to fit in its bezel.
