    1942s rpm?

Here is an example of a 1942S Lincoln (wheatie) cent.

    The mintmark is a puzzle...

I am sure it took a hit on the right (east) lower section.

In the NW, it looks like an RPM (not really MD) and the lower serif seems to be split.

I checked out CopperCoins, but saw nothing like it.

    What do you think?

I'm going with MD on this one. See how the doubling seems to "take away" from the upper left curve on the MM? I would also expect much stronger split serf's with a spread like this. In addition, there appears to be MD on the upper 9 of the date going in the same direction. Another bad sign pointing to "not" an rpm in my book.

Yeah, after closer examination, it does not appear to act like an RPM (well enough).
